Social Media will be your best friend - Nowadays social media is a must. Especially in the fashion business where everything is visual. Posting and sharing your passion for fashion is a great and easy way to get yourself out there and present yourself. And of corse its the best way to get immediate information an whats hot right now.
Be creative - Fashion is very repetitive (Hello flared pants, welcome to 2016). Many things have been done already, its about how you take a turn on trends, how to spin them and revive them in a different and creative way. Think outside the box, think here and now.
Don’t take it too personal - As you take your first steps into the fashion industry, you will learn that you might get declined a lot. People in the fashion business are straight forward and might be hard on you. Just remember not to take it too personal and to not let it get it to you.
You WILL get judged - Probably one of the judges industries is with no doubt the fashion industry. You will get judged, you will be hearing loads of options and suggestions. It’s important to not loose yourself in the process and to stay positive and open minded. And again, thick skin! Don’t let it get to you!
Choose the right area - find the area you are most passionate about. The fashion industry is so diverse and there are so many different positions and jobs. Make sure you find a job that suits you and that you can live up to your potential in.
