Margaret Thatcher once famously said, “If you want anything said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.”
According to a new study, the companies that perform best financially, have the greatest numbers of women in leadership roles. Canada ranks No. 1 with an incredible 50%, as country with the most women leaders. The Philippines and the US come second with 41%. At the very bottom of the list, Japan with only 8% of women leaders. Women currently hold 4.4 percent of Fortune 500 CEO roles. Fortune 100 companies have eight female CEOs (8%), while the remaining Fortune 500 companies have 14 female CEOs (3.5%). This is a big improvement for this new year, and more and more women are gaining power and are in powerful positions.

2. Margaret Whitman – Hewlett-Packard (No. 17)
3. Virginia Rometty – International Business Machines (No. 23)
4. Patricia Woertz – Archer Daniels Midland (No. 27)
5. Indra Nooyi – Pepsi Co (No. 43)
6. Marillyn Hewson – Lockheed Martin (No. 59)
7. Ellen Kullman – DuPont (No. 86)
8. Irene Rosenfeld – Mondelez International (No. 89)
9. Phebe Novakovic – General Dynamics (No. 99)
10. Carol Meyrowitz – TJX (No. 108)
Ladies like these have done their best to be where they are at this very moment. They have inspiring stories and journeys on how they made it and they do everything and more to be inspiring and motivation to other women out there, trying to be in the position they are in. Set your goals high, follow advices given from women who made it, from those who have found their success, and maybe by the time the list will be updated again, it will have your name on it.
